These figures come from the manufacturer’s standard FX-2000 catalogue table. Part suitability and the installed configuration are assessed during technical review. Manufacturer’s specification table

What do two spindles and two turrets mean?

A spindle holds and rotates the workpiece; a turret carries the cutting tools. The FX-2000’s twin-spindle, twin-turret arrangement is one of the features considered when planning operations.

For a part requiring work at both ends, we review the gripping surfaces, operation sequence and inspection of critical dimensions together. Whether the operations can be completed on the same machine depends on part geometry and the required tooling.

From catalogue limits to a production plan

A diameter of Ø220 mm and a length of 535 mm do not, by themselves, establish that a part can be manufactured. Drawing review covers the following:

  • Geometry and workholding: external and internal diameters, length-to-diameter ratio, gripping surfaces, jaw clearance and tool access.
  • Operations: faces, grooves, threads and machining requirements at both ends.
  • Material and dimensions: material specification, critical tolerances, surface requirements and datum surfaces.
  • Order and inspection: batch quantity, repeat-order requirements, measurement and acceptance criteria.

Which parts can be assessed?

Turned-part families such as bushings, pins, shafts, adapters and connecting components can be assessed from their technical drawings. A part-family name or outside diameter alone is not enough to select the machine.

Our CNC lathe and Swiss-type machine fleet provides options to consider when selecting a production route. Achievable tolerances, the scope of operations and delivery plans are established during quotation.

Questions before requesting a quote

Can every Ø220 mm × 535 mm part be manufactured?

These are catalogue upper limits. Workholding allowances, part geometry, tool access, material and tolerances must be reviewed before suitability can be confirmed.

Should my part use the FX-2000 or a Swiss-type lathe?

The choice depends on more than diameter. Length-to-diameter ratio, operations at both ends, material and order quantity are considered when assessing the production route.

What tolerances can you achieve?

Achievable tolerances are established during quotation after reviewing critical drawing dimensions, datum surfaces, material and the inspection method.

What should I send for a quotation?

Send the current drawing revision, material specification, batch and annual quantities, critical tolerances, surface and thread requirements, and target delivery date. Drawing files can be emailed to info@cagsev.com.
